Most of us think of belief as connected to religion, but if you accept religious belief as fine, then what about other beliefs? If you don’t have to justify your beliefs, then what is wrong with white nationalism or any of a host of mean-spirited ideologies or conspiracy theories? What happens to a society when evidence is no longer required for a world view or a national policy?
