The Rationalists of East Tennessee has made a commitment to keep a 2-mile stretch on Pellissippi Parkway, between Knoxville and Oak Ridge, free from litter.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation's "Adopt-a-Highway" program has erected signs at each end of our 2-miles.

See our Photos of RET volunteers during a recent trash pickup effort, pausing to enjoy a cool glass of water in the shade on a hot, muggy spring morning.

Summary: You do not have to believe in god to want fellowship with your community. The Atheist Society of Knoxville and the Rationalists of East Tennessee are organizations which provide opportunities for fellowship without mythology. Meet ASK members after work for a drink and some eats as they congregate and explore various restaurants and bars in the Knoxville area. Participate in a round table discussion or take in a presentation of matters great and small the first and third Sunday mornings of most months with the Rationalists of East Tennessee. Second Sunday afternoons we meet for the Skeptic Book Club at Barnes and Noble near West Town. Fourth Sunday Reflections dinners are for smaller, more intimate, discussions of philosophical subjects. Show number 2: Biblical Errancy

    Hosts: Joe Barnhart, Larry Rhodes

Summary: Inspired error! Biblical contradictions about being able to see God and live. The contradiction of David's prayer stating he was "spotless" as opposed to his actions during that time. Was Judas repentant or not? The Bible shows it both ways. Different versions of ancient texts that disagree, and the selection of different books for the bible done by committee.
